CNA Study Guide

A practical study path for nursing assistant certification preparation.

CNA preparation must be state-aware. There is not one universal nationwide CNA exam rule for every candidate. Requirements, testing providers, and procedures can vary by state, so use QZ9 practice as study support and confirm the rules for your own program or testing provider.

Most candidates need to prepare for two kinds of work: a written or knowledge exam and a separate skills evaluation. The knowledge side checks safety, communication, infection control, resident rights, basic care, and observation. The skills side checks whether you can perform nursing assistant tasks correctly and safely.

How to study CNA

Start with the CNA written knowledge exam page, then review the CNA skills test page. Use the CNA Practice Test to check knowledge topics. Before test day, read the CNA exam format page and compare it with your state/provider instructions.
